CHEER:

Cheerleaders will be selected by a panel of judges. All students who desire to try out, and are eligible, must try out for the positions that are open. Coach:

STUDENT COUNCIL/LEADERSHIP:

Student Council (STUCO) Mission: The mission of Coweta High School Student Council is to provide a voice for open communication among students, faculty, and staff by establishing a forum for problem solving and continuous improvement of the school, of individual goals, of school spirit and in recognizing the needs of those in the school and in our community. Motto: Good leaders must first become good servants. Faculty Advisors are Ms. J. Allison and Ms. J. Hughes

ACADEMIC TEAM:

To enrich and advance students’ academic knowledge and participation in brain based activities. Faculty Advisor is Mr. G. Shultz.

ART CLUB:

To give students a chance to participate in advanced art activities. Faculty Advisors are Ms. S. Self and Ms. D. Sturgeon

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY/NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY Mission:

The mission of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students at Coweta High School.
1. Membership in this chapter shall be based upon Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.
2. Membership of this chapter shall be known as active, and graduate. The graduate members have no vote. Active members become graduate members at graduation.
3. Candidates shall have spent at least one semester in this school and be a member of the sophomore, junior or senior class. Candidates eligible for election to the Chapter shall have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (without rounding) of 3.5. Cumulative Grade Point Average will include from the beginning of a student’s freshman year until the current recorded grading period. All students who can rise in scholarship to or above such standards may be admitted to candidacy for election to membership. Their eligibility shall then be considered on their Service, Leadership, and Character. Faculty Advisors are Ms. R. Askew- NHS and Ms. Danielson- NJHS

FAMILY CAREER AND COMMUNITY LEADERS OF AMERICA:

Mission: To promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner, and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development; creative and critical thinking; interpersonal communications; practical knowledge; and career preparations. Faculty Advisor: Ms. L. Roberson and Ms. S. Sims

FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA:

The National FFA Organization (formerly Future Farmers of America) envisions a future in which all agricultural education students will discover their passion in life and build on that insight to chart the course for their education, career and personal future. Faculty Advisor: Mr. T. O’Dell and Mr. S. Symes


MOCK TRIAL:

The program helps students develop public speaking skills, encourages deductive and inductive reasoning, sharpens reading comprehension, stimulates interest in governmental studies and increases appreciation for our judicial system as a means of enforcing society's laws. Faculty Advisor: Ms. A. Albright


NASO: NATIVE AMERICAN STUDENT ORGANIZATION:

Mission: Coweta Public School NASO is dedicated to the advancement and enhancement of the educational and cultural experiences. We strive to challenge the stereotypical image of indigenous people and stimulate interest in higher education. We are not only devoted to unity, but moreover, building friendships. BOOK CLUB:

Mission: The Coweta Intermediate High School Book Club is committed to motivating students to become lifelong readers. Its mission is to provide a forum for student enrichment and learning through monthly book discussions. Faculty Advisor:

ESPORTS:

Students will learn and demonstrate concepts of strategy, teamwork, and communication skills along with understanding principles of movement and tactics related to certain games. Students will also research and learn about careers related to esports and video game development such as strategists, content creators, and entrepreneurs, among others. Students will be required to stay after school for game matches or in person tournaments dependent on game. Faculty Advisor : Ms. K. Todd

Our Mission Statement: CHS Yearbook's goal is to comprehend the basic graphic design aspects of media coverage and produce a piece of work expressing the people, occurrences, emotions, and lifestyle of our school throughout a year, applying the abilities, values, and organizing strategies learned in the course.
