Pathways to Success
CHS Spring Conferences
2026

Dear Tiger Parents and Guardians,

In place of Spring Parent-Teacher conferences on March 5th and 10th, CHS will host our annual “Pathways to Success” events. These events are designed to provide Sophomore and Junior students and parents an opportunity to sit with your student’s 5th hour teacher (or another trusted staff) and discuss your student’s enrollment selections, credits, and course options for their upcoming Junior or Senior year.

On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week (February 25th -27th) teachers will allow time for your students to give you a quick call on our school phones to schedule a time on conference nights for you and their teacher. Appointments begin each evening at 4:00 PM and are scheduled every 15 minutes through the final slot at 6:45. Your student’s teacher will have a spreadsheet to sign you up.

We hope that you are available to attend this important event to see what courses your student has selected, ensuring they are on track as they should be. Additionally, we will have an AP forum in our Media Center in the event you have questions or are interested in learning more about AP coursework. Additionally, our Interact Club will be hosting a Clubs and Activities Fair in the Commons area. Again this event is for current Sophomore and Junior parents and students.

Just wanted you to have a heads-up regarding a call you will be receiving from your student Wednesday through Friday this week after 12:30 PM. If you have any questions, or need to reschedule, do not hesitate to call our front office at (918) 486-4474.

We’re excited to share our February 2026 Newsletter and all the great things happening across Coweta Public Schools! This month’s edition includes updates from the February board meeting — including approval of the 2026-27 school calendar and the purchase of new buses — along with a message from Superintendent Myers about the importance of showing love and kindness in our community.

You’ll also find classroom highlights from every campus, student and teacher spotlights, construction progress updates, and plenty of Tiger pride from our athletic and fine arts programs. From the 100th day of school celebrations to regional competitions and All-District honors, our students continue to make Coweta proud.

Take a few minutes to check it out — there’s a lot to celebrate this month!

Back to School, Tigers (Yes… Really This Time.)

Coweta Public Schools will be open for in-person learning on Friday, January 30th — and yes, this one is for real.

We want to sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused by yesterday’s change in status. We know that shifts like that affect families, schedules, and plans, and we truly appreciate your patience as we worked through rapidly changing weather and safety conditions.

Oklahoma weather keeps us on our toes, but our priority is always making the best decision we can with the information available at the time — and keeping our students and staff safe.

The good news: our buildings are warm, buses are ready, and classrooms are set. We’re excited to welcome our Tigers back to campus and get back to learning together.

See you Friday. For real. 🐯

IMPORTANT: Switch to Distance Learning for Thu 1/29

I regret to inform you that we have changed our decision and will move to virtual learning tomorrow Jan 29th instead of meeting in person.

This decision was made after careful consideration of current safety concerns. Black ice is already forming in our parking lots and in several neighborhoods, and potential staffing challenges. These factors create safety issues, including insufficient supervision in some schools.

I understand this change may cause a significant burden for some of you, and I am truly sorry for the inconvenience. Our priority is the safety of our students and staff. We are hopeful that another day of above-freezing temperatures will improve conditions so everyone can safely travel to and around our sites.

INCLEMENT WEATHER UPDATE

While weather and road conditions are beginning to improve, continued frigid temperatures are still creating conditions that warrant additional caution. As a result, Coweta Public Schools will shift to distance learning on Wednesday, January 28.

Wednesday will count as an instructional day. Students are encouraged to check in with their teacher when possible and complete any assigned work throughout the day.

Please continue to monitor the district website at https://www.cowetaps.org and our official social media channels for updated information regarding the rest of the week.

Today, CHS and CIHS in conjunction with our Coweta Police Officers conducted a lockdown drill during a passing period to ensure that students, faculty, and staff know what to do in the event of a lockdown during a passing period. We have been making daily announcements throughout the week to prepare students and help minimize anxiety about this drill.

Students did an excellent job clearing the building in under one minute.
